Photobook.ai develops mobile apps for Orwonet GmbH

Photobook.ai announces they have been chosen to deliver and maintain the photo print and personalization apps for ORWO Net AG, one of Europe’s largest white-label full-service print fulfillment companies.  ORWONet fulfills for some of Europe’s largest retail chains with thousands of stores and millions of users.

Pixelnet Fotos for iOS and Android apps are based on photobook.ai’s aiBook3 white-label platform which is into its third generation. The company says it is a complete turnkey solution for any company to cost-effectively launch and to maintain a mobile app channel to their market.

The Pixelnet Apps sit on top of a scalable middleware encompassing Ecommerce functions like payments and refunds, CRM for user management, and a product management system specially tailored for a highly complex mass-customization photo business.

Being the fulfiller of choice for many of Europe’s largest photo retail chains, ORWONet has an extensive product catalog that consists of more than 10,000 product variations, ranging from small photo gifts like photo keychains and mugs to life-sized wall décor and photobooks.  Each one of these products comes with a myriad of options; from multiple frames sizes, color, and finishing, to different papers, sizes, orientations, shapes, and shipping options.

Scalable Multi-brand, Single App Strategy

The Pixelnet Fotos apps are designed to be easily re-configured and re-skinned for all of ORWONet’s multiple retail brands and customers, each with a slightly different product mix.  All apps will still be configured from the same familiar command center dashboard by the respective marketing and product teams.

In anticipation of the exacting requirements of the modern print fulfillment providers, the photobook.ai Product Management System was architected from the ground-up specifically for mass-customization photo products and baked deep into the app, according to the company. The aiBooks white-label apps also include advanced computer vision and AI to help users curate and create photobooks. AI is also used to power the Smartcrop feature which makes creating simple products like magnets, mugs, prints, and wall décor simple. SmartCrop uses scene subject saliency estimation to find the area-of-interest in any photo, to know how to position and scale them.

The Pixelnet Fotos Apps are available for free download on the Germany Google Play and Apple AppStore in Deutch and English. Designed and developed by the photobook.ai team in Singapore and 3 other global locations, the backend servers are located in the EU and strictly comply with GDPR requirements.
